Moon Chasing the Sun

You are the sun with golden rays
Warming all those around you
Who feel their touch,
I’m your moon
That chases you through the sky
From dusk to dawn
Never catching you
But only glimpsing your golden rays
As they kiss the gray morn or fade into the twilight
Yet do not fear
For the night is my playground
And the stars keep me company
Each twinkling light
Remind me of your eyes
Every shooting star
Of your pretty smile
Someday I will catch you
And drink in your golden rays
So that I might shine as bright as you
And turn night into day!
